Oke Links, January/February 2018:

An article on Okehampton Camera Club appeared in the latest edition of Oke Links.  It is accompanied by an image of St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall by long-serving member Martin Stephenson.

Ocmundtune Creative Arts Exhibition of Local Art at the Charter Hall

Member Douglas Lander had 4 images selected for the inaugural exhibition of works by local artists and photographers in the Charter Hall, Okehampton.  The exhibition is running until April 2018 and is organised by Ocmundtune Creative Arts on behalf of Okehampton Town Council.  This is a free exhibition and will be on view whenever the Charter Hall is open to the general public, such as the popular coffee mornings on most Saturdays throughout the year.

Regional Success for Local Photographers

Two members of Okehampton Camera Club have won regional awards for their photography. Erica Griffiths from Winkleigh and Derek Stratton from North Tawton both received Selectors Ribbon Awards for their entries into the Members  Exhibition hosted by the Western Counties Photographic Federation. The exhibition is currently showing at Buckfast Abbey, South Devon
Five thousand entries were submitted for consideration from more than fifty photographic clubs affiliated to the W.C.P.F. Of the two hundred images selected for display.  Erica had two acceptances and Derek five. The nationally-accredited judges chose to make their personal awards for Erica’s “Crested Tit “and Derek’s “Modern Dance”
Derek, who is Okehampton Camera Club’s Chairman said, “For a very small club this is an outstanding achievement and the club provides an excellent platform from which to improve your photography.”
